Josh D’Amaro is the new CEO of Walt Disney Studios replacing Bob Iger. It remains to be seen what will come of this change but I’m cautiously optimistic.




Lilo and Stitch 2 live action is slated for May 26, 2028. The first one made a lot of money so naturally they’re hoping for that again. Will it be a remake of Stitch has a Glitch?

Incredibles 3 is slated for June 16, 2028. That’s a long wait but I hope the crew does it justice. Especially since Brad Bird isn’t directing this time (it’s Peter Sohn). Incredibles 2 was good but not great. Hope 3 can change that trajectory.

Historian and friend of mine Jim Fanning and I at Walt’s Desk (photo credit: Archivist Mike Buckhoff). Here is a photo from D23 of Mike Buckhoff, our wonderful host and tour guide at the Walt Disney Archives. He is a master of the Photo Library and knowledge of all things Walt Disney. His father worked at Disney also for many years. Walt’s formal desk with items restored exactly as he left them the day he died December 15, 1966.  The model plane is a Grumman Gulfstream. Many pieces of art represented here are reproductions such as the portraits on the walls, but this is exactly how things looked according to the tedious detailed notes of Dave Smith, founder of the Walt Disney Archives and first Chief Archivist. This includes the paper clips on the desk in the box and the pencils. The photos are of Walt’s two daughters Diane and Sharon. The drawn portraits are reproductions of actual portraits of his daughters by Norman Rockwell. He also had several pairs of their baby shoes bronzed...

Toy Story 30

  Happy 30th anniversary to Toy Story. It was released November 22, 1995. This is probably one of the few movies I had growing up that impacted me the most. I love Pixar and the creative stories they tell. The first computer generated animated film was a big feat and changed the world. It’s hard to believe how fast the time can go. The sequels are just as fun and exciting and I look forward to Toy Story 5 coming next year.
